A few weeks ago, I signed up for BritMums’ Little Winter Adventure Challenge- and then the weather turned foul. As D isn’t walking yet (sob), a cutesy post about splashing in puddles wouldn’t be an option. I had no idea what I would do: our usual routine is to walk to the library and back, which is hardly an adventure, is it? Plus, we do it all year round. Anyway, Benn’s parents decided to take D to the local park and I sent them off with some of the Barny snacks I’d been sent for D to try as part of this feature.
As you can see, D likes Barnys, especially the strawberry flavoured ones. As they’re cake with a soft jam filling, we’ve been keeping them as treats, which I think makes D enjoy them even more! Benn’s auntie has assured me they’re even nicer served with a bit of custard…
Benn’s parents took D out on his trike that they got him for Christmas and he had a whale of a time- even, apparently, being the attention of a puppy’s frantic attempt at befriending him. I think that probably went down better with D and the puppy than it did with my in-laws/the dog owner. (My response? Eh, germs are good.) He quite happily chatted with people in the park and waved. Seriously, it’s like walking round with the Queen: lots of public attention and I have to pay for everything as he never carries cash.
However, he did come home smiling, happy and- most importantly- knackered, so I reckon that his trip to the park with Nanna and Grandad certainly counts as a winter adventure (even if it’s just a tiny one….)
This post is an entry for BritMums ‘Winter Little Adventures Challenge’ sponsored by Barny, individually wrapped bear-shaped sponges with a hidden filling. Find out more about Barny here.
